Embroidery or Printing: Which One Is Right For You?
When it comes to choosing the right printing method for your custom workwear, it can be difficult to know where to start. You want to know that your branded workwear will convey your company’s professionalism, withstand the everyday conditions of your workforce, and help you not only stand out to the public, but foster community within your organisation.
At Absolute Workwear, we offer two main types of customisation for our customers to choose from: Embroidery and printing. Each method can be more or less effective depending on the finish you’d like to achieve, the clothing you need to personalise and the conditions your workforce operates in.
Which method is right for your branded workwear? We can help you find out.
What Can Branded Workwear Achieve?
Before you decide the specifics of how you would like your organisation’s branded workwear to be personalised, it’s important to first consider how you would like your company to be perceived.
The branded workwear we customise can help your organisation become more identifiable to the public: with clear logos and iconography linking individual team members to the collective of your organisation.
Branded workwear achieves visual harmony throughout any business; whether you work in construction, hospitality, or the commercial sector; instilling company pride in employees and trust in your customers. Therefore, it is important you’re being identified in a way that reflects your company goals.
At Absolute Workwear we ensure quality and attention to detail is achieved in every piece of branded workwear we offer, so no matter which one you pick you can be assured it’ll stand out for all the right reasons. However, each method does have a distinct visual appeal; from the timeless style of embroidery to the attention-grabbing boldness of printing; which can strengthen your brand if used to your advantage.
Is Embroidered Workwear Right For You?
One of our most popular options of customisation is embroidery. Our embroidered workwear offers a timeless visual appeal that works well for small logos on polo shirts, softshell jackets and fleeces.
Embroidered workwear is achieved through precisely stitching your logo or design into the fabric of your garment in bold and colourful, or strikingly elegant, threads that give a professional, slightly raised finish: adding texture and visual interest.
This durable method of personalisation can withstand repeated washing and regular use, making it particularly suitable on hospitality, construction and retail uniforms. We can do embroidered customisation on small and bulk orders, with swift turnaround times and high quality control.
However, embroidery isn’t perfect for all custom workwear applications. Embroidery results are often better when used for simple logo designs and smaller areas of personalisation; meaning it is not the best option for large, intricate logos. In the cases where those are required, printing can be a much better option.
How Can Printing Work Best for Your Needs?
At Absolute Workwear, we offer a variety of printing methods, with transfer printing being the one we use most frequently.
Transfer printing involves a process of heat and pressure that securely fixes the printed design to the fibres of the garment. This method can be used to great effect with larger, more intricate, logo designs as the logo is simply printed onto a transfer material before being pressed onto the fabric: achieving a seamless transfer of any design. This method is favoured by organisations who want to achieve vibrant colours, intricate detail, gradients or photo-realistic images that would be hard to achieve to a high quality in embroidery.
Alongside transfer printing we can also offer vinyl heat transfer, DTF and screen printing services. However, these methods are only used if our team decides, after receiving the artwork and quantity of personalised garments ordered, that they will be suitable.
For example, screen printing is a method we’ll only use on bulk orders of a significant quantity. This method involves pressing ink through a mesh screen directly onto the garment. Each colour requires its own screen, which means it is both too time consuming and expensive for small quantity orders.
